Hayley Matthews, the West Indies captain, will return to the Melbourne Renegades after being signed as a pre-draft pick on a one-year contract.
Matthews arrived with considerable excitement last season as the third pick in the draft, following some stunning performances for the West Indies, including a magnificent century against Australia at North Sydney Oval.
She struggled to reproduce that, scoring 255 runs at 19.61 and a strike rate of 114.34 in a disappointing season for Renegades, who ended last with only two victories, but she did finish as their joint-leading wicket-taker with 14 at 27.64.
