Indiana Fever rookies Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston have been having some playful exchanges lately. Recently, Clark playfully requested that Boston “leave her alone” after a lighthearted taunt from her teammate following a mini-golf match.
The Fever held a mini-golf competition at their gym, where Boston’s impressive scores contrasted with Clark’s less remarkable performance. Boston took to the comments section of a video posted by the Indiana Fever’s Instagram account to tease Clark, writing, “@caitlinclark22 what do you think about this video? bow bow bow.”
Clark, not missing a beat, responded with a playful plea, saying, “@aliyah.boston plz leave me alone.”
This friendly banter isn’t new for the duo. Earlier, during a team-building activity on August 6, the Fever players were divided into two groups for a home run derby-style competition. Clark’s team emerged victorious, prompting her to tease Boston with a comment on a video, saying, “Been waiting to see these highlights all day. @aliyah.boston thoughts on this video?”
Boston quickly responded, “@caitlinclark22 you had 800 more attempts than the next person. I’m winning the next one tho.”
Beyond their off-court antics, both players have been making significant contributions to their team’s performance this season. Clark, a standout rookie, is averaging 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 8.2 assists, and 1.5 steals per game, and is a strong contender for the Rookie of the Year award. Boston, drafted in 2023, has been equally impressive with averages of 14.2 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 0.8 steals per game.
With the WNBA currently on a break due to the ongoing 2024 Paris Olympics, the Fever are coming off a period of mixed results but have bounced back to secure the seventh spot in the standings. They will resume their season against the Phoenix Mercury on August 16, and fans will be watching to see how they perform in the remainder of the season and their chances for a playoff berth.
