Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green recently shared his thoughts on Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever during his podcast, sparking widespread attention.
With the 2024 WNBA season temporarily paused for the Paris Olympics, one of the most talked-about topics earlier this year was the surprising omission of Caitlin Clark from Team USA’s roster.
In a recent episode of *The Draymond Green Show* (with credits to The Volume and ClutchPoints), Green expressed his strong opinion on the matter:
“I think Caitlin Clark should have been on the USA Team. It’s great for the brand. We talk brand any other time, let’s not act like it doesn’t matter now. If you think about what the 1992 Barcelona Dream Team did for the brand of basketball. The WNBA is still in those phases of growth, similar to where the NBA was then. The league needs to expand its global reach, and she’s the biggest global star in women’s basketball… I think A’ja Wilson is gonna be the GOAT. But from a branding and marketing perspective, Caitlin is the biggest.”

Caitlin Clark, who was the first overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft following an iconic three-year career at Iowa, has continued to impress in her rookie season. She’s currently averaging 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 8.2 assists, and 1.5 steals per game, with shooting percentages of 40.5% from the field and 32.7% from beyond the arc across 26 games.
However, despite her individual success, the Fever have struggled, holding a 11-15 record in their first 26 games.
