In the final quarter of the gold medal game, Stephen Curry took center stage, and Caitlin Clark was quick to acknowledge his brilliance.
Curry took over in the last three minutes, with the score tight at 82-79. He drained four consecutive three-pointers, giving Team USA the cushion they needed to defeat France 98-87, securing their fifth consecutive Olympic gold.
In what was his first and likely only Olympic appearance, Curry finished with 24 points and five assists, shooting 8-of-14 from the field—all of his made shots coming from beyond the arc.

After the game, Indiana Fever rookie guard Caitlin Clark celebrated the U.S.’s victory on social media. In an Instagram story, she summed up Curry’s dominance with just two words: “Cheat code.”
And indeed, Curry proved to be just that. His incredible performance not only propelled Team USA to victory but also solidified their status as one of the greatest international squads of all time.
With his Olympic gold medal dream fulfilled, Curry now turns his focus back to the Golden State Warriors as he prepares for the 2024-25 NBA season.
