Sunday’s 92-75 Indiana Fever victory over the Seattle Storm came with its share of drama, much of it centered around rookie sensation Caitlin Clark. The controversy began late in the game when Clark, with less than a minute and a half remaining and the Fever firmly in control, began waving her arms to energize the crowd at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. This gesture didn’t sit well with the Storm, leading to one player shoulder-charging Clark from behind.
But that was just the start. Shortly after the game, a video circulated on social media showing a heated exchange between players from both teams with just 3.1 seconds left on the clock. Clark, visibly irritated by something said by the Storm bench, had to be restrained by her coaches and teammates. Just when it seemed she had calmed down, Clark turned back toward the bench and shouted, “Stop crying!”

The tension between the teams didn’t end on the court. As the final whistle blew, Storm head coach Noelle Quinn approached Fever head coach Christie Sides, clearly upset. Quinn was reportedly angry that Sides kept her starters on the floor with such a significant lead and didn’t sub in any bench players during her final timeout. While Quinn didn’t divulge details during the post-game press conference, she mentioned that she and Sides had a “spirited conversation about gamesmanship.”
