Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever extended their winning streak to two games with a commanding 92-75 victory over Jewell Loyd and the Seattle Storm. The Fever now stand at 13-15 on the season, holding third place in the Eastern Conference.
Clark delivered a standout performance, finishing with 23 points on 9-of-19 shooting, along with nine assists and five rebounds. Her impressive play also saw her set a new WNBA rookie assist record, surpassing Ticha Penicheiro’s previous mark.
In contrast, Loyd led Seattle with 26 points on 9-of-22 shooting, complemented by four rebounds and four assists. Despite her strong individual effort, the Storm could not overcome the Fever’s momentum.
During the postgame press conference, Storm Chasers, a social media account dedicated to Seattle Storm content, inquired about Loyd’s perspective on Caitlin Clark’s development throughout the season. However, Loyd declined to address the question, instead shifting focus to her rookie teammates, Nika Muhl and Jordan Horston.
“I’m going to talk about our rookies,” Loyd stated, avoiding further discussion about Clark.

This refusal follows a trend, as other WNBA stars have also sidestepped questions about Clark. After Indiana’s initial game against the Chicago Sky, both Chennedy Carter and Sky coach Teresa Weatherspoon opted not to comment on Clark’s impact.
Loyd’s past remarks about Clark have been similarly ambiguous. Following their first encounter with the Fever in May, Loyd responded to a query about the excitement surrounding Clark by saying, “It’s never about them. It’s about us.”
With Sunday’s win, Clark and the Fever managed to avoid a season sweep by the Storm, finishing with a 1-3 record against Seattle for the season. The Fever will look to build on their two-game winning streak as they head to Minnesota to face the Lynx on Saturday, August 24.
