Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry has officially thrown his support behind Kamala Harris in her bid for the presidency. In a video message shared at the Democratic National Convention, Curry praised Harris and urged Americans to unite behind her leadership.
“It’s been an honor for me to represent our country and to support Kamala (Harris). So let’s all do our part,” Curry said in the video. The message comes on the heels of Curry’s successful run with the U.S. men’s national basketball team, which he helped lead to a fifth consecutive gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. This marked Curry’s first Olympic appearance, an achievement he described as a “great honor.”
During his video address, Curry donned his newly-won Olympic gold medal, emphasizing the importance of unity both on and off the court. “That unity reminded us that together we can do all things and continue to inspire the world,” Curry remarked. “That’s why I believe Kamala Harris, as president, can bring that unity back and continue to move our country forward. This is about preserving hope and belief in our country and ensuring that families are cared for in their most critical moments.”

Harris has a history of connecting with Curry and the Warriors. Last month, she visited the U.S. men’s national basketball team during a practice in Las Vegas before they embarked on their Olympic journey. During this visit, Harris had a one-on-one conversation with Curry, further solidifying their rapport. The two also met in January 2023 when the Warriors visited the White House to celebrate their 2022 NBA championship.
Reflecting on these meetings, Curry said, “I got to visit Kamala (Harris) with my team at the White House last year. I can tell you one thing — I knew then and I definitely know now that the Oval Office suits her well. In the words of Michelle Obama, ‘Do something.’ Go vote. Be active. Let’s show out in November like never before.”
Curry’s endorsement was echoed by Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, who also voiced his support for Harris at the Democratic National Convention. Kerr, with a nod to Curry’s iconic 3-point celebration, delivered a powerful message: “After the votes are tallied (on Nov. 5), in the words of the great Steph Curry, we can tell Donald Trump … night, night!”
With both Curry and Kerr backing Harris, the call for unity and active participation in the upcoming election is clear.
