College basketball season is approaching, and there are promising signs for Kentucky. While it’s great to hear about the roster’s depth, the most encouraging news is that the team currently appears to be tournament-ready, especially after undergoing a complete rebuild.
It remains to be seen if they can perform well against real competition in about a month, but for now, things seem promising. With Midnight Madness events kicking off across the country, an insider reporter has been visiting top programs ahead of the new season.
CBS Sports insider Jon Rothstein watched Kentucky Wildcats practice this week and shared a report that the Big Blue Nation (BBN) will be excited about with less than a month until the season begins.
“The Wildcats have some known players with Jaxson Robinson, Andrew Carr, and Drexel transfer Amari Williams, but the big question for Kentucky in 2024-25 is how Mark Pope will arrange the backcourt lineup to start the season,” Rothstein stated.
“There are plenty of options available to Pope. Lamont Butler, Kerr Kriisa, Koby Brea, and Otega Oweh all look like potential starters for Pope, who has a brand-new roster this season. Kentucky looks like an NCAA Tournament team in 2025, but how the backcourt shapes up will be interesting to follow leading up to the season opener on November 4.”
