Caitlin Clark, the 2024 WNBA Draft’s No. 1 overall pick, is happily taken, currently in a relationship with former Iowa Hawkeyes men’s basketball player Connor McCaffery. The couple, who have been dating for over a year, celebrated their one-year anniversary back in April with heartfelt posts on social media.
“One year of the best mems w my fav person you make everyday better and I can’t wait for many more adventures together… love you ,” Clark shared.
McCaffery echoed the sentiment, writing, “One year w the best doing life w u has been easy, and you never cease to amaze me.. can’t wait to watch u live out ur dreams in person love you ❤️.”
However, it seems Connor might have some competition. A Colorado Buffaloes football player recently made a light-hearted attempt to catch Caitlin Clark’s attention.
In a video clip, the player, speaking to a team videographer, said, “Let’s go with Fever. My girl Caitlin Clark is balling. She’s doing a great job. I look up to her and all she’s done for the sport. And if she sees this, I’m a great guy. I have the best intentions. Call me.”
My two worlds colliding 😁.

Though the gesture was clearly in good fun, Connor McCaffery might not be too thrilled about the playful advance.
As for the Colorado Buffaloes, they are gearing up to kick off their 2024 season on Thursday, August 29, against ND State, with the game set to start at 8 p.m. ET.
