In this second matchup, Clark once again made WNBA history—this time in front of her childhood idol, Maya Moore, who was honored during the game with the retirement of her Lynx jersey.
With 1:33 left in the first quarter, the former Iowa Hawkeyes star sank a mid-range jumper for her fourth point of the game. This shot marked a significant milestone, making Clark the fastest player in WNBA history to reach 500 points and 200 assists in a single season, according to StatMamba. Notably, Clark is also the first rookie ever to achieve these numbers.

Clark had already surpassed the 200-assist mark earlier in the season and entered the game against the Lynx with 232 assists. Her impressive rookie year has been filled with record-breaking performances. In early July, she became the first rookie in WNBA history to record a triple-double, doing so against the New York Liberty. Additionally, Clark set a new single-game assist record for the Fever, dishing out 19 assists in a game against the Dallas Wings just before the Olympic break.
For the season, the 2024 No. 1 overall pick is averaging 17.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 8.3 assists in 35.2 minutes per game. Her stellar play has put Indiana in a strong position to make the WNBA playoffs for the first time since 2016, showcasing her immediate impact on the league and her team’s fortunes.
