During the New York Liberty’s road game against the Seattle Storm on Friday night, Sabrina Ionescu pulled off one of the most jaw-dropping plays of the WNBA season.
While driving to the basket for a layup, Ionescu lost her balance and tumbled to the floor, missing the initial shot. But in an unbelievable turn of events, she managed to grab her own rebound while still on the ground and somehow made the follow-up layup from her knees.
Ionescu later took to social media to joke about the remarkable play, saying, “If you can shoot, you can shoot.” As one of the game’s premier scorers, this incredible basket proves just how true that statement is.
